Kylie Greenelsh

Hello! My name is Kylie. I am an Elementary Education major, with minors in Reading Education, Psychology, and Children's Literature & Childhood Studies. I am a first gen student from the small town of Mt. Pleasant, NC. I am deeply passionate about literacy, advocating and supporting student populations. I value fostering a campus community that places importance in representing and celebrating every student's unique culture, interests, backgrounds and identities. I also value the college experience, as having the privilege of attending college. Similar to my reasons for becoming an educator, I hope to inspire, promote diversity, and help foster a growing sense of community on Charlotte's rapidly growing campus. Some of my focus points in SGA are student housing, student worker minimum wage, and LGBT-focused initiatives on campus! 

Current Initiatives in SGA:

Student food insecurity & Awareness of resources & of getting SNAP benefits

Increasing student minimum wage 

Affirming student's FERPA rights

Creating funding opportunities for student teachers (specifically: Funding students YL1/Student Teaching semester(s)

Encouraging a national teachers' union to encourage higher teacher pay and school funding
