Student Government Association

The Student Government Association is the official governing body for students at UNC Charlotte. Through effective leadership and collaboration, we strive to address student concerns and advocate for positive changes in campus policies and facilities.

SGA is an opportunity to:

  • Advocate for the student body
  • Instill change on campus
  • Develop leadership skills
  • Meet student leaders and advocates
  • Learn parliamentary procedure
  • Connect with University administrators
  • Gain experience with law, government, business, and more!

Students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA to participate in SGA. For a complete list of requirements, refer to Student Body Documents Chapter 1, Section §1-1.4.

UNCASG

Established in 1971, The University of North Carolina Association of Student Governments, also known as "UNC ASG" is a student-led organization committed to advocacy work on behalf of all 230,000+ students within the UNC System. With delegates selected from each of the seventeen UNC System campuses, UNC ASG addresses issues like access and affordability, campus safety, and student voter participation. 

Additionally, the UNC ASG President represents the student voice on the UNC Board of Governors.
